Newsletter 2017: Thorpe Hall Caravan and Camping Site
I trust you are all well and that you have all had an enjoyable Christmas with family and friends.
Thank you to all those who visited Thorpe during the year; we once again surpassed over 12,000 clients visiting the estate during the year, and for the first time, some notable uplifts in bookings during the more traditionally quieter months.
Before the season got under-way, we were delighted to attend the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards. Thorpe Hall Caravan Site was shortlisted in the ‘Best Touring Site in East Yorkshire’ which was a fantastic achievement given the stiff competition. Many of you know Jayne well who runs the Caravan Site and after 20 years at Thorpe, continues to be a key member of the team and credit for this recognition is in no small part down to Jayne…I best not forget Geoff as well..! Thank you.
2017 looks likely to be busy year with a number of key events taking place place in Hull as City of Culture and don’t forget the Tour de Yorkshire will be passing through the area, starting this year in Bridlington.
The programme of events continues to evolve at Thorpe and we have been delighted to welcome those who attended the Snowdrop Walk, Estate Walks, Classic Tractor Rally, Fishing Competition and our Family Fun Day. Dates for the forthcoming season estate walks will be posted on the website and Facebook in due course, but I will be taking the usual Spring, Cowslip and Summer walks. The Family Fun Day in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance continues to grow from strength to strength – planning for next year is already underway and we are hoping to better the amazing figure of £6000 raised for this vital charity – thank you to everyone that kindly attended and contributed so generously.
Thank you to those who have written reviews and please do continue to provide us with whatever feedback as you feel appropriate. All the team takes huge pride in providing the best possible experience for our customers and have been touched by some of the comments.
The 'Loyalty Card' has once again proved a great success and we will be continuing to use this as a means to reward returning customers. In addition, we have included some discounted options for those wanting to visit during March, April, June, September and October, see tariff enclosed.
As we get ready for next season, a number of major projects have commenced and some already completed on the Caravan Site. Hopefully, as per last year, this will all be clear when you next visit. We have included a brief leaflet on our 4 Holiday Cottages with the Garden Cottage being the latest addition to our portfolio, sleeping 10 and with disabled facilities.
Thank you again for your continued support, and from all the team at Thorpe, wishing you all a very happy and prosperous 2017.
